In December 2017, CICM has launched the Security Code of Management Practices, which is the 7th Code under the Responsible Care Programme in Malaysia. The Code is aimed to provide protection to people, property, products, processes, information and information systems by enhancing security, including security against potential terrorist attack, throughout the chemical value chain. The chemical industry value chain encompasses activities associated with the design and research, procurement manufacturing, marketing, distribution, storage, customer use, recycle and disposal of their products. Copy of the Security Code could be downloaded from the CICM website: http://www.cicm.org.my/images/RC/Security-Code.pdf
CICM encourages all CICM members and RC signatories to adopt and implement the Security Code in their operations. CICM also plans to introduce this Code as one of the new categories in the CICM Responsible Care Awards which is targeted to resume this year.
As part of creating awareness and better understanding of the Security Code and its importance to a company’s operations (and to cater those who had missed the November 2020 sessions), the CICM Security Code Task Force will conduct another awareness session virtually via Microsoft Teams, with the details as follows:
Date : March 16, 2021 (Tuesday)
Time : 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
Registration link : https://forms.gle/i4g5SKziGCyFTcAu6
We invite CICM members & RC signatories to nominate your representatives to join the awareness sessions. The tentative programme & topics covered in the awareness session are given in the Google link above. Participation is free of charge and by registration using the same Google link above by March 12, 2021 (Friday).
